Shining Angel in the Dark

You did not ask for it, yet you came.
Created with love and now forming into flesh.
Each beat of your heart gives an unexplainable happiness.
Each move you make fills the emptiness inside your mom’s heart.

Heroes Have Time

At one point in our lives, we witness or even suffer injustice and oppression. During those moments, we dream of becoming a superhero to avenge our pains against our oppressors. We wanted to shout for justice despite its impossibility. What we say usually inflicts hatred and fear; hatred towards those who oppress and abuse and fear of not gaining justice.
The worst thing maybe is to lose hope and lose faith. Despite your willingness to fight, your spirit may be dismayed by many aspects. Sometimes, you wanted to scream out your hate but your voice seems to be lost and never be heard. Sometimes, you may choose to be blind despite the clear view of the injustices and abuses that oppressors commit in front of your naked eyes. Sometimes, you want to stand, raise your arms with a weapon and fight with all your strength but your feet just could not move. At that point, your heart may be clouded with burning spirit to fight. But, you just can’t.
Being a superhero may have crossed your mind a thousand times. But, you just can’t be for they are just an imagination that never had been real. At that point of failed attempts, you may have lost hope and entrust totally your life into the hands of those who softly weaken you and taking everything what you have and what you deserve. Righteous, fairness, hope, equality, and justice may have been words that no longer exist for they mean nothing at all.
As for me, I have once suffered oppression but I survived. But, the hardest part is to be a witness of the injustices and abusive conducts of those in power. Their money has become their mightiest weapon that their wealth is not even enough for they continue to forcibly take what a poor man has. What is left to him is his dignity, yet they still taking it by force. They are merciless mugger. They speak of fairness, reasonable and justice yet they don’t know what these words mean.
I hear their cries and complaints. I see their patience and sacrifices. I can feel their pain. But, I am not a hero to save them. I am disturbed by their scream and hunted by their twinge but I am not powerful to pull them from their prison. I am not that strong to stand and fight. I only have the heart to empathize and lips to say a PRAYER.
I may have watch superheroes but I don’t believe of their existence. But, I believe that each of us is a hero in our own ways. Each has a heroic heart. Only that, we do not need to be geared up with valuable uniforms and weapons to be one.
In my dream, I heard them cry again. Despite my willingness to speak for them, my lips are zipped and my hands are tied. I feel weak and weary and their pain is making me numb. Behind my mind is a voice telling me that even superheroes have time. “This isn’t the right time. Everything will fall into its place. Justice will definitely shine against oppression. Like a plant when planted, it begins as a seed that needed to be cared for to grow up as a beautiful plant. Everything needs time and patience. Even superheroes train and sacrifice to be strong and intelligent for a strenuous battle. Patience molds wisdom and sacrifice develops strength. Listen, even heroes have their time…”

hUntEd And cOnfUsEd

Out of boredom and unavailability of internet connection, I was forced to play Chess Titans. Surprisingly, I won by checkmate against the computer. And, out of my happiness, I missed the guy who I usually play with. Yeah, he patiently taught me how to play chess despite my stubbornness and astuteness.
Behind my smile, was the memory of those times playing chess with him even until dawn. With my eagerness to win over him, I was even cunning and tricky but to no avail. He was really smart. His moves were intelligently planned and he was able to foresee my next moves. With his ability in chess, I learned to make my own strategies also. He inspired me to persevere in winning one game. By his attention and patient, it was more than once that I won over him.
While playing, memories we spent together kept on hunting me. I almost imagined that I am battling with him during my second game. Memories of the past kept on rewinding that made me bedazzled and insensible for a while. I remembered his smile, his voice, his promises and his plans for his life and for our future. I heard his sweet and comforting words and felt his sincere and passionate hug. I felt and saw him in his sincerest affection instantaneously. I remembered the happy moments we shared and struggle in life that we both battled with. His face flashed clearly. And, I instantly missed him.
I felt a twinged deep inside my heart that triggered tears in my eyes. How was I able to betray such a very kind and sincere person? What kind of person am I, who has turned down the guy who loved me with all his heart? Then, suddenly the feeling of guilt was changed with confusion and what ifs. What if I choose to stay? For sure, I won’t be crying for there is no reason to cry at all. What if we’re still together? Maybe, we have started realizing our dreams or maybe I’m back to school and he’s still behind supporting me. What if I didn’t hurt him? Maybe I can still fell the cold steel of being behind bars but at least I will be free from doubts and uncertainties with my relationship for I know that I am his only one.
For that very moment, I contemplated. However, I ended up confused. I am happy but full of uncertainties. I am sad for I have hurt someone but I found it as my only escape for it is what life is and it is a reality that I have to bear. I don’t want to hurt but don’t’ want to compromise my happiness. Now, I am still hunted by the mistakes I’ve done and happy moments I had before and confused by the decisions and steps I have made. After I’ve shed tears, I found myself wishing. I wish I could turn back the time and gave myself hundred times to think before I made the great move in my life. But such wish is beyond possible for things can’t be changed. Sadly, I am still confused by the uncertainties and by my indecisions and hunted by the happy memories of the past. At this very point in my life, I demand understanding rather than criticism and revenge.

The Landing of the Knight

On the pitch-dark moment of my life, the knight unexpectedly landed to shed light. Though I had known the knight for quite some time, I had a clearer look at how he really looked like. He was like a stone that borrowed its light but it has shone brightly when I needed its light.
Life was filled with turmoil and suffering that drove me to the cliff of surrender. But the knight has extended his arms to hold me back to the ground. As he raised his sword, all that caused the turmoil has silenced.
With the peaceful landing of the knight, I wished that he will never embark. Be with me all the time and be my guide in this dark and risky place. In his arms I feel safe and guarded from the threat of emptiness and sorrow. And, if I were a lion, he has completely tamed me from fury.
With his presence, everything seemed clear and blissful that even moment to wish has no place. He has everything and he seemed to be my everything.
The knight has completely changed my life from being fearful to being brave. He shared his strength and courage for me to stand up against the vultures. He served as my shield in this strange world. He has filled with joy the emptiness of being alone and needy.
The knight has completely changed my perception about life. Though, before I used to dream and be disappointed. Now, I feel contented for he has filled in the greatest dream I had. I hope it will not just be for the meantime but will last as a reality for a lifetime.
The knight has an unexplainable magic that made me raise my arms and completely surrender. He absorbed all my power and strength but with his presence, serenity and love is overflowing and perpetual.
Gentle knight, be my knight. You must know that you are the love of my existence and parting from you would turn back the lifeless existence. Gentle knight, be mine…forever.

Bakit Pa Ba?

Incidentally, I first heard this song few days after breaking up with panget, when a very talented friend of mine sang it over the mediacom. The lyrics are so damn like a sharp knife that has stricken my heart. The pain that I've created has bounced back to my heart that I've nothing left to do but to shed precious tears.
Every word of the song reminds me of one painful thing that I've done to someone who has no desire in his life but to make me happy.

Forgiveness is what I plea for and hopefully the four long years of relationship will end into friendship. Despite the pain, I still believe that happy times and memories we both treasure are strong enough to create the foundation of long-lasting friendship.

How to Deal with Perfectionist

On my very first month in college, I was told by my newly met friend that I am a perfectionist. I was silenced and contemplated deeply why she defined me as such. "Perfectionist" for me was quite a word that denotes a negative character.

I admit to have been keen on details, particular to this and that. I also hated and easily criticize behaviors that I do not find appealing. But, for me, as a teenager then, believed that it was nothings and that I am just believing of what I believe is right. There have also been times when I say "this/that should be this/that." I have unconsciously criticize and corrected people directly because of what they are doing. In the class, I manage to be in control and insist what I think is just and right. I did not want others to take charge because they might be commit mistake. But, I never thought that it is offending.

Calling me "perfectionist" has been also a wake-up call for me. That moment, I reminisced every minute that I was with that college friend and all conversations we had to think clearly what made her think that I am a perfectionist. Since then, I tried to change who I am. That was also the last time I heard someone calling me perfectionist.

In my life, I never thought of meeting a self-proclaimed "perfectionist." Dealing with her was an absolute difficulty. There is no room for a simple mistake. Mistakes committed will definitely be considered as a stain to your character. Every effort you make will not be appreciated even if risk have been made to achieve something remarkable. Any perfect job you make will still be wronged. Whatever you do will still have an invisible holes.

Definitely, there is nothing wrong with being a perfectionist. On the positive side of it, they are needed, especially in the Quality Checking. These are an asset of ensuring the quality and perfection of a thing or product. But, making it as an attitude is an absolute different thing.

Dealing with a perfectionist is like dealing with a rock. Like a rock, it has no heart, no feelings, unyielding, close-minded, and sees only in black and white. As a result, they become selfish and fault-finder without looking into their own mistakes. Meanwhile, there are also perfectionist who are pretentious. They ignore explanations and understanding in order not to admit their mistakes or lapses. These kind of people may be harder to deal with but no worries because they are always the LOSER.

However, dealing with perfectionist is without difficulty. The only thing that should be done to these kind of people is to completely ignore them. Take every opportunity to point out their mistakes. Show them that they are not good enough for what they are because they do not have the gift of understanding. Most importantly, make them realize that there is no such thing as perfect. They deserve the phrase, "Nobody's perfect!" The best thing to do with perfectionist is to make her see herself in the mirror for an hour. If there is no changes despite everything, leave them and live freely outside their shadows.

Let's talk about sex

Yesterday, I had my hair styled in one of the branches of David's Salon. Since I got inside, the conversation with their hairstylist was going well. So many smiles and humorous topics. It actually got more exciting when we were talking about sex. Of course, it isn't sex as many understand it when the word is spoken. Instead, it's about gender. The mistake is usually general. many questionnaires and forms interchanged gender to sex. But, I guess it is an acceptable mistake. Well, back to gender. At the very moment I saw the hairstylist, I knew it at once that he was gay.

During the conversation, he was asking me who was my last hairstylist, "Was he a man?" (Lalaki ba naggupit sayo?" Answering this question was quite difficult for me. During the time when the world was not invaded by gender innovations, answering such question was, of course, easy. Human beings have only two genders/sex, the male and the female or boy and girl, or man and woman. I was about to answer the question when something suddenly registered in my mind. So I decided answering him in a safest way as possible. I replied, "Wait! I cannot answer your question unless rephrased. I guess the right question is, What kind of male was my last..." Isn't it true, there are called subgenders? Male can be subdivided into straight, gay and bisexual.(Probably some have something to add). I was expecting the hairstylist to react violently because I thought he was among the subgender-gay. However, he agreed with a laugh and said, "It's good I don't fall among the subgenders. I am definitely a man and I am married to a woman." His response actually embarrassed me because I have implied doubt as to his identity/ gender when I ask him to show his wedding ring. But I remain composed and replied, "very good!"

*Sigh* It is really difficult to identify the gender of people today. The innovations in styles and changes in environment may have affected our perception about things, ie gender. However, in such conversation, I have learned one thing, don't judge one person by his appearance because looks may be deceiving. lol. It's always good to know the inner self of one person rather than relying on his personal appearance. Unless, his identity can obviously be determined.

I haven't shared this story to my friends yet and I am honestly sure that this "encounter" will make them laugh and will say "maldita ka talaga" ^-^

So many times I hear about “soul mates”, “meant for each other”, “destined” and many more words and phrases that is claimed about the “fact” or “realities” that defines one’s love. The sweetest assumption could be that someone is destined to another. Some would also back up their theories or belief by biblical verses and other metaphysical explanations. Some also holds on to such belief or “claim.”
Sadly, I hardly find application of such general belief in my life. My situation of being in love with a person who cannot possibly be mine while being in a relationship with a person I do not truly love does not fall in any of the theories or beliefs about love or destiny. I call my relationship with a guy who loves me so much as a prison. Prison, not because his love is strangling me but because I am returning his love out of pity. I cannot afford to leave him because I don’t want to hurt him. I actually attempted to end it one time but it did not materialize because at the back of my mind, I hear him crying. I know it is a mistake to enter into a relationship out of pity but I just could not stand out my guilt when I hear him cry or see him emotionally hurt in my mind.
Now, my prison has been complicated when I unexpectedly fall for the person having moral ascendancy over me. Every day, I tried to resist my feeling but it persistently grows every time I see him. Having glimpse of him is enough to make my day bright. He is, indeed, the person filling in the sadness in my prison. However, when assessed, such love is making my prison even more complicated. Though he makes me smile, he is also making my heart ache. For almost nine months, I have concealed my feelings and pretended as if I do not feel something special about him at all. I have revealed my secret to some of my friends but I just could not receive support from them. Instead, they call me flirt and advice me to be loyal to my boyfriend. I tried to forget the person; however, I could not really help my heart from beating and my mind from thinking of him. I also planned to tell him about my feelings, but so many factors are hindering me from doing it. I really want to shout out my love for him but I just could not. Aside from being born conservative, I also fear being turned down or embarrassed in front of him. For nine month and counting, I am still suffering the pain of being inlove yet hopeless and being in a relationship yet unhappy. Now, I am haunted by questions of to whom am I destined to or who among them could be my soul mate? At the end of my journey, will my love finally liberate me or will my pity forever imprison me?

reminiscing...Seb

Just yesterday, ate Weng sent me a message giving me the account of my long time crush while serving at DENR. Yeah, at this very moment, I am thinking of Peter. While thinking of him, I also decided of writing a post about my life’s experience with this particular man. Few years back, I worked at DENR while enrolled in law school. I was a kind of lady that does not really look like a lady ^-^ simply because of my simplicity. However, deep inside is a girl’s heart that normally looks up to guys that appears cute or handsome. Despite simplicity and conservative-like lady, I usually let my crush feel or know that that I have a crush on him. I dunno but I am different from others who opted to hide their feelings. Peter was once my crush that I just could not forget my most embarrassing yet “kilig moment”. I saw him while we were having a flag ceremony as he was also working in said department but assigned to another bureau.
I took his phone number from our common friend and started sending him quotes several times a day. He asked who I was but I just said that I am his stalker. I felt that he also wanted to ride with me. And so the texting became more regular. However, several times, I was the one who send a message to him first, well of course ^-^. I wasn’t contented and so I took his ym account. The conversation became more regular even during office hours. But one of the most memorable was the very day that he knew already who I am. He persisted in convincing me to tell who am I but I just told him that I am just a stone’s throw away from him and I know every move he makes. The “bolahan” continued until each of us knew that the truth is coming out. During that conversation, I felt that he know already who am I but pretended as if he does not. I just went on typing words that ended both of us laughing. But the embarrassing moment was when I observed that he was not replying already and too late when I noticed that he was in our office for an official business. Running inside the pantry was my very first reaction. I knew that he saw me ran but insisted on hiding because I just could not look at him with my face turning red and guilty ^-^. He left the office and the conversation in ym continued. I just couldn’t understand my feeling when he said “Why did you run?” I couldn’t help myself from biting my arms because I didn’t really know what to do. Even without facing him, I know that he is laughing in from of his computer saying “Now, I know who you are.” But then, I managed to collect my thoughts and composure and replied, “Because I am shy”… That very moment, I admired Peter more because he was so kind and just know how to handle the situation. He knows how to make me at ease at such point. Well, definitely I enjoyed also the conversation and couldn’t just hide the “kilig” feeling. And, through the conversation admitted that he looks so handsome and appealing to me. Eventually, we ended as online friends only as it made us more comfortable. Besides, he was a religious man and active in church that made him even more handsome. He was my crush but never wished to be his gf. Today, he is now enjoying his chosen career in the US and according to my lastest update, he has an American gf.
To Seb, wherever you are right now, I wish you more success and I know that your dreams are not far from realization because you have a heart full of kindness and love.

moral degradation?

The issue on morality seems to be fading at present. In the US Supreme Court's decisions in Lawrence v Texas and Goodridge vs. Department of Public Health (440 Mass. 390 [2003]), the same- sex marriage has achieved its validity in the legal system. This cases has attracted debate not only in the government but on the international world. This time, the gay marriage and the lesbian marriage has been recognized in US.
While, unavoidably, reading the case, I tried to look into the wisdom of the court's decision. In the first case, the court held that people have their right to choose whom they wanted to get married to. The right to privacy was held to be prejudiced by the sodomy law which penalizes gays doing sexual acts with their male partner even if done in their private rooms. The definition of marriage has also been extended and at the same time limited to "a contract between two parties" regardless of gender. Furthermore, the moral basis of marriage was not considered. With these decisions of the courts, many rejoiced while some raised their eye brows.
In the Philippines, the presence of the gays and lesbians and same- sex relationship is rampant. The possibility of asking the Congress or court for their recognition is not far from reality. The question on morality will someday shatter us. But I believe it's nothing to be feared of. Our country has been institutionalized on moral values and it is not vulnerable to decay. Besides, the definition of marriage has been clearly laid down in our Civil Code and is limited only between a woman and a man, nothing more nothing less.
It is true that we have freedom, that what democracy entails. However, we are guided by the law of man, law of nature and Law of God. Nonetheless, as they say, man designs his own destiny and he has been gifted with free will. Morality is even hard to define, thus, going further would just lead to confusion. I just hope that we still live within the context of "life" :)

PRICELESS PRICE OF WINNING

Winning is simply defined as succeeding in a particular contest. It practically means bringing home an award or trophy, receiving a certificate or medal or bagging money after a contest, race or game. Or even seizing a territory after a battle.

Winning brings a feeling of satisfaction and pride. It brings popularity and wealth. It opens a wide horizon for learning and opportunities. It soothes the feeling of stress after a long and tiresome battle. It is a medication for lost pride during the battle. To some, it may be the final but to some it may just be the start of a real battle.

A victor is usually marked by physically receiving an award or wearing a crown that, sadly, many victors value. But for a real victor, winning is not only weighed by the awards or medals earned but by every failure that a contestant has conquered. It is not measured by how your name has gone so far but by every lesson that you have brought to your viewers or fans. It is not based upon applauses you proudly heard but by the satisfaction you offer to your supporters. Neither is seen on list of accomplishments but by every purpose that you have fulfilled. The price of winning is priceless more than gold medals but like a diamond it stays forever.

In every competition, it is not the purpose of getting into the finish line or grabbing an award that matters. Sometimes, while in the race the purpose varies. That purpose will only be seen at the middle of the competition. Seeing that purpose is the wisest thing than being publicly pronounced as a winner. Fulfilling that hidden and newly discovered purpose already makes one a victor.

Life, usually, is said to be a game. And we, human being, are competitors of our own race. In every race come ups and downs. In this life, victory is earned in many ways. Victory is earned even from failures as long as in every failure you learn to stand up and try again. As Winston Churchill stated, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm”. For what loss can bring you is challenge and in conquering that challenge it brings you happiness. Success is neither measured on every award earned if it does not make you happy at all. Success can be attained even away from finish line when happiness is within you. Albert Schweitzer said, “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”

No victor wins a battle alone. Behind every success hid people who patiently and courageously support a victor. Nobody successes without having an inspiration. And it is the spirit of inspiring that forces a victor to win.

Theodore Roosevelt once said, `It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust, and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes short again and again, who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends himself in a worthy cause, who at best knows achievement and who at the worst if he fails at least while daring greatly so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."

Love, defined 2nd part..

...as I have said, LOVE is the only word that does not run out of definition..

LOVE is one of the hardest thing to define because at times you thought you were in love- yun pala ay hindi. It could have been simply an infatuation or a physical attraction.
I guess love is an emotion that you cannot force on anyone. It is very personal as one's basis for love varies - depending on one's experience, needs and wants.

For me - love should make you happy. However, it carries with it certain responsibilities such as honesty and fidelity. If you cannot be honest or fidel, then one cannot truly say that he is in love with the person he claims to love.

Love can start also with a simple physical attraction or attraction brought about by common interests --- then it grows and grows everyday as both get to know each other and develop their attraction towards each other - bringing it to a higher level.

They also say that love hurts. True but while love hurts, it also heals.

LOVE - is when you think about someone in everything you do, whether you're simply walking to school or you're reading a book, basta ganun. Ewan ko. Di ko lang talaga alam. I think it's something that makes you happy, like smile ka ng smile bago ka matulog. Hehehehe. Basta kung nagiging selfless ka na para sa mga taong mahal mo, yun ang love. Pero ewan ko. Hehehe.

Love takes time it needs a lot of effort and sacrifices in order to gain and nourish the true meaning of love,it doesnt come right away.We've easily attracted to persons we met along the way but it doesn't mean that there is love already but things may turn on it.

Love is the only word known by every human being, even those not yet born. It is a word easily said but hardly shown. It is so powerful. It is an affection that is sometimes misinterpreted. It has many faces and justifications. Love is the only perfect thing in this vale of tears and in heaven.

It is a strong vibration that binds two hearts. It is a magical foundation that builds a home. It ignites a circle of friendship. It is a feeling indescribable. It is patient and understanding that justifies all the flaws in a relationship. It is an acid that melts away an incurable grudge. It is a light to a lost soul. It is the very reason of everyone’s existence.

Love is great, unselfish, and powerful that brought humanity’s salvation. Love, whatever its kind, is the most beautiful thing here on earth.

pain first


The time I don't have projects to be busy with, I spared my time learning guitar. Actually, it has been my dream eversince I came to love music. At fist, I was really so excited and determined not until my fingers are getting numb and painful already. I hardly strum and press the strings so I backed off from my lesson. My teacher was almost laughing at me for murmuring the aches.
Then he taught me a lesson, a dream will never be achieved in a blitzkrieg or like a strike of a lightning. Many temptations and hardships are awaiting on the way but if you are really desirable of achieving a goal, one must conquer all.
Life is just learning how to play guitar. There are aches, pain and of course excitement while learning. The pain that you may experience has to be encountered with courage and determination. The sweetness of life is waiting after succeeding all its battles.
Despite his words of wisdom, I discontinued learning. I only reached keys until G and desired not play anymore. It’s really painful. Huhu..
But isn’t it painful to regret in the future for surrendering a simple dream?

unforgettable stay in Pan Pacific Hotel


This is just one among the many poses made in Pan Pacific Hotel during our Christmas Party. Behind me is the relaxing and clean blue swimming pool for those who choose to spend their time in one of the cozy and comforting rooms of the hotel. Outside is the veranda where the beautiful view of Manila is visible. On the lobby, there placed a soft and inviting couch for those tired of walking or standing. I myself loved sitting and enjoyed the softness of one of the couch. In fact, I was even caught enjoying a nap on one of the couches.
The very place I would mostly appreciate in the hotel is the comfort rooms. It is a room where you can’t just comfortably discharge the call of nature but it is also a possible place for dining lol. Its cleanliness would certainly scare the germs away!
The carpeted and spacious hall was just perfect for our number for we do not touch each others’ elbow. The lights, sound, smoke effects provided to us were just suited and made our presentations more entertaining. I liked the backdrop, just perfect.
The hotel’s employees and staff were kind and friendly. In fact, I even borrowed the coats of the waiters for our presentation lol. They delightfully lent it. Then we brought home the 3rd prize.
Certainly, one day, I will be spending my precious time in Pan Pacific Hotel.

"What worth is a man who does not make the world better?"

Like every human do, I do thought of drafting my own new year’s resolution too. Before I came up with my final draft, I though of the pressure my resolutions might ponder upon me. We make our resolutions purposely to do better. Good for those who are determined to be better but useless to those who can’t get away from their old living.
While thinking of what to change in the future, I remembered the phrase from my favorite movie, Kingdom of Heaven, stated this way; “What worth is a man who does not make the world better?”
Isn’t it a challenging question? That instead of thinking what your promises you make for yourself you better hold on to this question and keep asking this to yourself.
Probably it would be a question posing too much pressure but it’s not.
Every human being is brought into this world for a purpose. However, some of us just live for the purpose of existing but not all of us has arrived or realized our purposes in this world.
Like me, many are still confused about the secrets of life. The time when the truth be revealed to us may not be determined but let us avoid leaving this life without knowing the answers of our questions.
“What worth is man who does not make the world better?” Making the world better may be done in many and simple ways. Definitely it does not require you to be a president or a famous personality. The world just needs you to live your own life simply.
As for me, simply making one smile makes me worthwhile.

Looking back at yesteryear


While trying to write down my New Year’s Resolution, I was stopped by my thought to reminisce my past year experiences. I have recapped my yesteryear as a year mixed of human emotions. Throughout the 365 days that has passed, I’ve experience life in its maximum level. I laughed and I wept. Happiness to sorrow and vice versa has influenced my mood for the past 12 months.
Being a movie lover, I dreamed of having a portable DVD player. In 2007, this great dream was fulfilled. Not long enough, I was able to own a mobile phone which I longed for. Having both had brought me unexplainable happiness and contentment. Now, I am enjoying the pleasure of these gadgets.
The happiness I’d felt was changed into sorrow. Days were gloomy when I learned my brother met an accident. It was only after a couple of weeks that my family and I recovered. Though it was sad, I look into the brighter side that the accident has brought my brother. The family ties became stronger and has changed my brother’s attitude a bit.
For the past 525,600 minutes, my family and I were shattered with another trial- the death of my grandmother. Loneliness had clouded our emotions but human life was created to end. Death is a part of life and acceptance of one’s loss will only cure the loneliness it brings.
A month after the tragic moment of my life, a moment of sweetness and blissful wedding has bounded a couple. My bestfriend got married. The wedding had given us a chance to see each other after a long period of time. She had finally settled down. God bless them.
Those moments had been a moment for me to meet my friends after a long year of waiting.
The very event that I will never forget of 2007, is the event that had brought me frustrations and regrets. September is my birth month and at the same time the month for taking the bar exam. Fours years ago, I was like those who took the bar exam- a law student. But last year, I was just a simple person watching and envying them. I was just a person in the corner full of regrets. The words “If only…” kept hunting me. I was in vain. I had regretted but it was already useless for the years were already over.
Year 2007 might be gloomy to me but I know I still awe God gratitude and “thank you”
Many trials came into our lives but the survival amidst the trials is worth rewarding. That in life, one has to struggle to overcome the obstacles and the unexplainable happiness that is waiting at the end of trial is worth more than silver and gold.
I have been through a life filled with trials and struggles and I am thankful to God for surviving all of them. Though I had been weakened by problems and sorrow I was endowed with strength that God has pondered upon me.
For everything I thank God.
I know that this year 2008 will be year filled with unexpected experiences but I know that like last year I will be strong enough to face them.

Christmas is for children.... is it?


on the evening of December 24th, my friend and I rushed to the popular Baclaran to buy Christmas presents. These little kids caught my attention despite jam-packed place. The older kid was feeding the other two and they would laugh. While many children are busy preparing and excited for Christmas eve mass in their fabulous clothes, these kids are in the streets waiting for their parents. They really seem so pathetic.
At an early age, they experience a life in the streets, enjoying life within a busy, stinky and noisy place.
In the situation these kids are into, it seems that Christmas isn't to all kids.

amazingly shocking

While giving Christmas presents to kids on Christmas day, my landlady asked the kids this question "Why was Jesus born?". Some kids maintained their silence and thoughtless but one kid amazed me whe he said "It is for the people why Jesus was born." Among many kids who were asked only one knew the answer. Even I was amazed with the answer of the kid. I want to give more and more candies to the kid however, I thought that some kids might envy at him and might just cause trouble. I just thought that the kid deserves not only candies but much more from Jesus Christ, for the kid is blessed for knowing the purpose of Jesus in his life.
How many of us could have thought or could have answered like the kid?
