Just yesterday, ate Weng sent me a message giving me the account of my long time crush while serving at DENR. Yeah, at this very moment, I am thinking of Peter. While thinking of him, I also decided of writing a post about my life’s experience with this particular man. Few years back, I worked at DENR while enrolled in law school. I was a kind of lady that does not really look like a lady ^-^ simply because of my simplicity. However, deep inside is a girl’s heart that normally looks up to guys that appears cute or handsome. Despite simplicity and conservative-like lady, I usually let my crush feel or know that that I have a crush on him. I dunno but I am different from others who opted to hide their feelings. Peter was once my crush that I just could not forget my most embarrassing yet “kilig moment”. I saw him while we were having a flag ceremony as he was also working in said department but assigned to another bureau.
I took his phone number from our common friend and started sending him quotes several times a day. He asked who I was but I just said that I am his stalker. I felt that he also wanted to ride with me. And so the texting became more regular. However, several times, I was the one who send a message to him first, well of course ^-^. I wasn’t contented and so I took his ym account. The conversation became more regular even during office hours. But one of the most memorable was the very day that he knew already who I am. He persisted in convincing me to tell who am I but I just told him that I am just a stone’s throw away from him and I know every move he makes. The “bolahan” continued until each of us knew that the truth is coming out. During that conversation, I felt that he know already who am I but pretended as if he does not. I just went on typing words that ended both of us laughing. But the embarrassing moment was when I observed that he was not replying already and too late when I noticed that he was in our office for an official business. Running inside the pantry was my very first reaction. I knew that he saw me ran but insisted on hiding because I just could not look at him with my face turning red and guilty ^-^. He left the office and the conversation in ym continued. I just couldn’t understand my feeling when he said “Why did you run?” I couldn’t help myself from biting my arms because I didn’t really know what to do. Even without facing him, I know that he is laughing in from of his computer saying “Now, I know who you are.” But then, I managed to collect my thoughts and composure and replied, “Because I am shy”… That very moment, I admired Peter more because he was so kind and just know how to handle the situation. He knows how to make me at ease at such point. Well, definitely I enjoyed also the conversation and couldn’t just hide the “kilig” feeling. And, through the conversation admitted that he looks so handsome and appealing to me. Eventually, we ended as online friends only as it made us more comfortable. Besides, he was a religious man and active in church that made him even more handsome. He was my crush but never wished to be his gf. Today, he is now enjoying his chosen career in the US and according to my lastest update, he has an American gf.
To Seb, wherever you are right now, I wish you more success and I know that your dreams are not far from realization because you have a heart full of kindness and love.

i hate him...

We often hear the saying, “Action speaks louder than words”. When things are puzzling we usually tend to assess one’s actions and then make assumptions therefrom. Most of the time, our assumptions falls true. But sometimes, it hurts when our assumptions are filled with obscurity and even frustrating when the right answer is not found.
At this very moment, I hate the fact that I made assumptions out of actions that may or may not imply anything. At this very moment, I am still puzzled and imprisoned in a cell that I eventually realized I have created. Despite the clarity of words, I’m still confused by the actions that continue to hunt my curiosity…and maybe at this point, making me hopeful for something I am not certain of.
This very emotional moment was created by a mere “meets in the eye” moment. I had several experiences like this but this is totally different. During that one moment in my existence, my eyes took a look at one direction. It was not intentional. It was merely incidental. And then, there I saw him staring…that made my eyes locked into his eyes for a few seconds. During that few seconds, there was nothing in my mind. I just felt like I can’t keep my eyes blink nor distract the moment. When my neck has fully reached its maximum turn, my eyes were finally released. Few seconds more, I finally forgot what his eyes looked like…..It was nothing…it was just a coincidence…I thought I would soon forget.
The following days were different…his eyes were there again locking my eyes for few seconds. Those moments were even mixed with actions that I thought implies something. I let those days pass by with the hope that it was nothing…it was just a coincident.
Months passed by and I made my assumptions that those actions and those “meeting of eyes” implies something. I waited for more months hoping that my assumptions were true. But, as of now, I’m still waiting.
Through those actions, it was not only my mind that made assumptions. My heart did even assume. Uh, I think my heart has fallen for him…and I hate it.
I hate the fact that I see him every time I close my eyes. I hate the fact that I am yearning my eyes to be interlocked into his eyes again. I hate the fact that those moments can never happen again because I cannot look at him for unknown reason. I hate him for he is bothering my sleep and my concentration. I hate him for he is occupying my mind at this very moment. I hate him for making me dream of him. I hate him for I am what I am now. I hate him I hate him I hate him. I hate him for making me assume out of his actions. I hate him for making me hope for nothing. I hate him for making me emotional. I hate him for making me dream of him. I hate him for making me think of him. I hate him for making me a dreamer now. I hate him for all what he has done. I hate him.
If only actions have words, I could have not made the assumptions that there was meaning of everything. If only his actions have words, I could have prevented myself from falling for him. If only actions have words, those actions could have made the speaking …and I could have not made any assumptions at all. If only actions have words, maybe I’m not left confused and puzzled. And, if only his actions were not obscure I could have found the meaning of all of these. For everything he has done, I hate him.

January 5 could still be considered a vacation for me as I was not occupied with any loads. While reading over the news and surfing, an article about the role played by blog in the personal life of a blogger caught my attention. Then I was headed to the blog of brian shane gorrell, well-known in blogosphere and to this testimony of a child who had been a victim of "abuse of power". At around 1:30 PM today, at Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City, Mayor Nasser Pangandaman, Jr., Mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur, his father, Secretary Nasser Pangandaman of the Department of Agrarian Reform, and company, beat my defenseless 56-year-old dad and my 14-year-old brother to a pulp because of some stupid misunderstanding on the golf course.

This is a golf course. I have been a golfer all my life, and I have never seen anything like this. NOTHING. This is hard to comprehend. And it happened to my own father and my own brother too. Right in front of my eyes.

My brother and I were playing golf at the South Course of Valley. We were on the 3rd hole, and we see two golf carts going past us, overtaking our flight, and setting up to tee off on the next hole. My dad goes up to them and asks them why they would do that, why they would overtake us without even asking for our permission. Golf etiquette 101. One of the guys says that they're with the flight in front of us. (So what? That doesn't give them the right to just pass us WITHOUT asking.) So, we go to the 5th hole. The flight behind us catches up with us, and asks us what caused the hold up. We said that this flight just slipped in front of our flight. So we complained to the marshall. We play the 5th hole and walk towards the next hole, where there is a teehouse, and both the flights in front of us were there, talking with the marshall. The mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur talks with my dad. Things get heated up. Voices were raised. But never, in my wildest dreams, did I ever imagine that someone would pull out a punch. Apparently not. He attacks my father. His flightmates, maybe 2 or 3 of them, rush to his aid and beat up my father. My 56-year-old father. My younger brother and I could not just watch. We rushed to break the fight. My younger brother pleads to the mayor to please stop it. To not hurt my dad. To just stop. His words still ring through my head..."Sorry na po, sorry na po...tama na...tama na po..." With his hands in front of his chest in a praying position. PLEADING. The mayor socks him in the face. My brother defended himself. My dad is still on the ground getting clobbered. My brother is the same way. I try to stop the fight, but all I can do is stop one person. There were 4 or 5 of them attacking now.

Someone breaks up the fight. I thought it was all over. The mayor shouts to his caddy: "Hindi nila kami kilala! Sabihin mo nga sa kanila kung sino ako!" And believe me, I had no idea who this person was. But now I know. He's the person who, with 4 other men, beat up my 56-year-old father and my 14-year-old brother. He's the person who sacks a pleading 14-year-old kid in the face. He's a person who, I am sure, is gonna rot in hell.

I lash out, but my dad held me back. I was screaming my lungs out, shouting to this mayor, telling him about what he had done. I said: "Nakakahiya kayo. Singkwenta'y sais anyos ang tatay ko. And kapatid ko kakatorse anyos. Anong ilalaban nila sayo?"

The mayor looks at my brother, point to his face, and says, "Tatandaan kita!" And he tells me that my brother has a bad attitude and that I need to watch him. WHAT THE HELL?! So, my brother's bad for defending his father?!

We leave. We walk to the clubhouse to file a complaint. My brother asks for a doctor. My dad could barely walk. Their group comes to the clubhouse, sees my brother. Once again my brother pleads, says sorry, and is crying. He was CRYING, for crissakes. But no. The relentless mayor still punches him in the face, and then sees my dad and goes after my dad again. Him and his friend pull my dad to the ground, pulls at his feet, and steps on him like he's dirt. I run to him and try to hold him back, holding him back by his shirt, while this other guy and this girl tries to stop me. She tells me to just stop it. I scream in her face "they're beating my father up and you want me to stop?!" I pull at his shirt--I don't let go. All I can see was my dad being trampled on. I didn't even see my brother getting beat up.

People pull them away. I get my dad, and I saw my brother. His right ear was bleeding. I freaked out. I told the receptionists to bring my brother to the clinic. I pull my dad away. People were separating us.

My mom and my older brother come. I tell her Bino's right ear is bleeding. They both look like they could kill. My dad holds my brother off, I hold off my mom. When I finally got my mom under control, my older brother gets away and I hold him off. Two of the mayor's bodyguards pull out guns. I embraced my brother from the back, just holding him back, crying. The receptionists came to us, crying, hugging me, my dad, and my mom, whispering to us to just leave. "Maam, umalis na po kayo, may mga baril sila...Maam...umalis na po kayo please..."

I am pretty sure the Secretary of DAR did not take part in the fight, but he just watched all this happen. He watched two of his sons, as we figured out, the other guy was his son, too, beat up my father and my 14-year-old brother. He didn't do anything to stop it. And this person is what now? A cabinet member. A politician.

Sounds like something out of a movie, doesn't it? But this is what happened. TODAY. The day after Christmas. To my family. And all I ask for is JUSTICE. The people at Valley Golf did not seem to want to help us. None of the security guards even tried to stop the fight. Right in the clubhouse. I came back after the fight was over and talked to the receptionists. They say they did not see anything. The general manager of Valley Golf would not give us the names of the men who made my brother's ear bleed. It took him an hour. Maybe even more than that. He seemed to not want to help us. Because, we were against the SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRARIAN REFORM and the MAYOR OF MASIU CITY, LANAO DEL SUR. They were all scared.

The world has gone crazy. Two politicians beat up a defenseless 56-year-old father and his 14-year-old son. At a golf course. I swear to God, I thought golfers were decent people. You would think politicians were decent people. I guess not. I guess they gang up on 56-year-old men and beat up pleading 14-year-old kids.

Please pray for my dad, my brother and for my whole family. Please pray that we get JUSTICE. Oh God, please, give these people what they deserve.
